Pakistan Cricket saw a dramatic change in their squad as their regular skipper Sarfraz Khan was handed a four-match ban by ICC after his act of disgrace in the Durban ODI where he said something which was unethical. Mohammad Rizwan was called as his replacement to keep the wickets.
Keeping behind the stumps in the Durban ODI Sarfraz indirectly spoked to South Africa’s Andile Phehlukwayo in Urdu saying “Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj?” which literally in English means “Hey black guy, where’s your mother sitting today? What have you got her to pray for you today?” He was caught on Stump Mic record.
After the match, he went on Twitter to apologize for his offensive words towards the South African and said he had no intention of hurting anyone and also expressed that he did not mean to let the opposition or anyone to hear those words.
Just before the Matchday of the 4th ODI Shoaib Malik was appointed as the stand-in Skipper to lead the side for the last two matches and Sarfraz will also be missing the T20 series.
Pakistan won the 4th ODI by eight wickets and levelled the series. The final ODI which is going to be the series decider will be played at Cape Town on January 30 at 4:30 PM.
