The post is about Best Predicted players of Kolkata Knight Riders and Team Preview.
This franchise has immensely gained popularity by its association with celebrity owners like Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla. The team started achieving success since the time Gautam Gambhir took over the captaincy in 2011, and they won the IPL in 2012 and 2014 under Gambhir’s leadership. After season 10 Gambhir moved back to his previous IPL team Delhi Daredevils (currently Delhi Capitals)
Last season they were the only team to play less than 19 members in their squad, and for this year they retained 13 players among them and added eight more players to the team in which 5 are overseas players, so match predictions for KKR will be dependent on squad selection. Dinesh Karthik currently leads the team, and they were knocked out in the Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad last season.
Lockie Ferguson and Harry Gurney will provide the X-factor in the pace bowling attack as we could see last year they were playing with young bowlers who lacked both concerning experience and pace. Hopefully, we can see Kamlesh Nagarkoti to open the attack as he was ruled out last season with a foot injury.
KKR have their spinning trio comprised of Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla, and Kuldeep Yadav, this year if they play English all-rounder Joe Denly he can to add with his leggies. They can be the best-predicted spinners of IPL.
The significant change which Knight Riders brought in last few years is allowing Sunil Narine to open the Innings and execute his shots to add as many runs they can for the total and it really worked well for them, and mostly they may continue with Narine and Lynn opening. Predict who can open for KKR this season?
With the 23-member squad let us look at the five Predicted player to perform on a huge note.
The West Indian joined the team initially in 2012 as a right-arm off-spinner, but who thought that we could see his aggressiveness with the bat. It was Gautam Gambhir who brought him up and pushed himself down the batting order. Narine can be among the most valuable players according to our match predictions.
Narine smashed his first half-century against Royal Challengers Bangalore in May 2017, it is the fastest IPL fifty off just 15 balls joining Yusuf Pathan in the record. He has scored 581 runs since he started opening since last two seasons. He will be the big man to win matches for KKR.
His skills to adapt various shots and play them tactfully is outstanding, especially his front-foot shots which clears the boundary was the favourite of fans. He is the highest run scorer for Knight Riders in the current Squad. And our match predictions say he will be the lead scorer for KKR this year.
He used to bat as an opener but now bats at No.3 after Sunil Narine started opening. Uthappa is the Orange Cap holder in the 2014 season which KKR won. He can be shifted to open the innings if Chris Lynn is not available for the IPL.
The Carribean all-rounder is the core player of the Kolkata team who can smash huge sixes in the crowd and can also big wickets with the ball. After having represented the Delhi Daredevils in the past, Russel turned out to be a revelation for the Knight Riders when the franchise acquired him in 2014.
Last season he made 316 runs at the strike rate of 184.79 and picked 13 wickets at an economy rate of 9.38, the power hitter will always be a strength for his team as he has lots of experience and has played significant tournaments across the globe. We Predict that he will be in the most valuable player list in this year’s IPL.
The Delhi boy who loves to play attacking shots and has given stringing contributions to his previous franchise Mumbai Indians scoring 333 runs from 13 games in their 2017 league victory.
He was bought by Kolkata last year for 3.4 crores and played his perfect game in the middle order and also gambled important wickets at tough stages like the one against RCB taking wickets off Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers and ensured his side saving plenty of runs. He is expected to handle the middle order pressure in the team.
His whirly left-arm action may look ungainly and also has lots of variations which he uses at crucial moments to pick big scalps. He has much experience in Domestic English tournaments played in different county clubs like Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire(currently).
He currently is playing for Melbourne Renegades in 2018/19 Big Bash League and has taken five wickets from 4 matches he played so far. He will add strength to KKR’s pace attack as none of the KKR pacers has much experience like Gurney.
These were the 5 IPL predicted players for KKR whose performance is very important for them to win matches!
