The 4th ODI between India and New Zealand went in the home side’s favour for the first time in the series as the Black Caps thrashed India under 100 runs, getting the entire side all out for 92 runs. This big loss wipes India’s dream to whitewash New Zealand.
The hero for New Zealand was Trent Boult who was unstoppable today as he was heavy on Indian batsmen right from the start of the innings, dismissing the openers Dhawan(13) and Rohit Sharma(7) and went on taking wickets of Shubman Gill (9), Jadhav (1) and Hardik Pandya(16).
Boult finished with figures of 10-4-21-5, he also got support from medium pacer Colin de Grandhomme who sent back Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik without letting them open their accounts in the eleventh over. Grandhomme posted his career’s best figures in this match off 3/26.
New Zealand did not take much time to finish the match despite Bhuvneshwar Kumar striked early wickets of Martin Guptill (14) and Kane Williamson (11), opener Henry Nicholls(30*) and Ross Taylor(37*) built 54 runs partnership to finish the innings in just 14.4 overs which made New Zealand won the match by 8 wickets.
