Rohit Sharma is going to lead the Men in Blues in the absence of Virat Kohli who will be resting for the series. Sharma is not only responsible to lead the team to another victory but he is also in contention to break a record in his T20 career.
Martin Guptill currently holds the T20 International runs record with 2272 runs in his career from 74 innings, unfortunately Guptill won’t be seen in the coming series as he has been ruled out due to a back injury.
Sharma who is 3rd on the T20 runs list with 2237 runs just 35 runs behind the Kiwi batsman’s score. The 31-year-old should score 36 runs to pass the record, but it is not enough as Pakistan’s stand-in skipper Shoaib Malik is still 8 runs ahead of the Indian skipper and has one more match to play against South Africa.
Looking at Malik’s batting average of 30.75 the Hitman will have to score at least 50-70 runs in the series to be the leading T20 International run-scorer which will make the first Indian batsman on the top of the board in T20.
So what are your predictions whether Rohit Sharma will be the highest T20 Run Scorer or not?
